Indeed, the idea of us "baiting" an obviously higher intelligence into any kind of trap with nuclear materials is laughable, like a cat clawing wallpaper or chewing live wires to get attention. Of course we are completely transparent to any higher intelligence.
Would we allow the cat to chew through live wires though.... probably not, we would try to stop it, for its own good, (unless we maybe hated cats!)
