Indeed I agree "Renewables" can't solve the problem, the science of this was always a profit driven distraction from the hard reality that profit itself is the energy dishonesty, and the thing unsustainable, and the thing directly driving the temperature rise.
But the whole thing is reversible, as naturally as any plant pays back its initial energy deficit to the planet, there is no reason at all why we can't do the same, except if we don't want to, and the only folk who might feel like that, given the proof, are those who would refuse to give up their capital dependent privilege, until they literally burn themselves on the planet.
