If we accept that the only solution to the energy security problem is solar, and the only way to use solar effectively is mostly on a distributed, per-community basis, feeding to local microgrids, backed up by local hydrogen and fuel cells, then we should expect a hydrogen economy with all communities generating excess hydrogen. So the requirement of future transportation is not EVs, but HEVs.

So unless the semi is modified to run on reversible fuel cells, it probably isn't as well placed as other trucks which are HEV from concept, like this one: https://www.volvotrucks.com/en-en/news-stories/press-releases/2022/jun/volvo-trucks-showcases-new-zero-emissions-truck.html
