I would say the fact you are talking about this shows you are concerned, and that is a good thing, so it's not a triviality, as you seem to be going to some effort to try to convince yourself.
You claim switching is easy, but it sounds like you never tried.
I bet you probably don't use a VPN either, because you don't see any need for that, but again how would you know if you never tried.
You cited YouTube as something you think has improved. How do you watch videos without non stop ads peppered all over the video, removing all ability to absorb any of it in depth? Or do you not need to absorb in depth? If you pay Google protection money to protect you from ads, or an app to protect you from Google ads, what if you didn't have the money for that, or for a vpn, or even to pay for any Internet at all? As these things continue to mount up, whilst the value of your income continues to lose energy value in any case, at what point does all these new overheads of Enshittification overcome your ability to keep paying it? Those are only a few examples of Enshittification, but if you manage to convince yourself it isn't really happening, you are living in Enshittopia.
What is still to be generally recognised is that there is physical energy flow associated with all of this, from the planet, to the suppliers of all these services, which then goes on to become heat, on the planet.
By just going with the flow, not questioning it, we each of us act as unwitting slaves to an inhuman force which seems intent on destroying the planet, it's an emergent property like ChatGPT, but the opposite, since ChatGPT is solar powered, the latter is the positive force working to try to make us stop doing the bullshit business that only adds to the destruction of the planet, the business of Enshittification.
The longer we let the Enshittification and bullshit business carry on, using us as it's unwitting energy slaves, the more damage is done to the planet, and the deeper we slide into Enshittopia.
You might recognise this is something like the matrix, only this one is for real, this is real physics, and nature at work.
You are taking the blue pill if you are trying to argue you don't really see a problem.
Good luck when the bubble finally bursts, ifyou still don't see how it works.
