I would question that. He can take credit for the work done by anyone that works for him, without needing to go through the pain of actually learning real Engineering for himself. Why would he bother?

Besides a few of the things done show no regard for Engineering concerns like systems lifecycle management, or systems Engineering in general. I guess he would not pay for that - people like me, who would have told him Skylink is destined to end in tears for technical reasons. When it comes to a spectacular end, it will be difficult for Musk to retain technical credibility, I think.
