I would have said just stop seeking funds from users, same as for any platform. If the platform stopped seeking the energy it needs to survive from users in the form of money, turning instead towards getting it's energy from solar, generating saleable hydrogen with excess energy, then it could even get into a position of supplying energy to users in the form of money.
Then it would no longer be sucking energy from users, it would be rewarding users for participation whilst removing the needs of users to carry on pushing energy extraction, making the platform irresistible.
This would be very good for users, platform, and the planet, since all would then be supplied by solar energy rather than energy extracted from the planet.
All other communities then might follow that lead.
ChatGPT free is already doing it, leading by example, and actually could subsume all platforms and industrial communities not doing it.
