I would believe it if we showed any sign of being able to sustain life here on Earth. But we can't even do that, if we can't see the simple way energy works to produce all life here (clue - it isn't by extraction), we have no chance at all on Mars, if we ever even got there. I am still struggling to believe we will even put humans on the moon again, under the current economic strategy of extracting everything on Earth to death, never mind Mars
