I wonder when economists will start to make the connection between money and energy.
When we do that, make money standards against live energy, the only live energy, direct from the sun, instead of things like gold, which is actually just a kind of accumulated energy, as is all capital, then we start to fix the environmental issue as well.
Capital, and all kinds of stored energy, are all kinds of work done, but energy direct from the sun is work in progress, uniquely donated from a source outside the economy. Money and the energy of the sun are connected, but a multisciplinary mindset and techniques are needed to analyse the full nature of the connection.
Acknowledging money simply empowers, is a good place to start.
