I was in process of writing a story on the environmental impact also, but it is difficult to analyse without uncovering some uncomfortable politics, so I downed tools for now, but well done you, for avoiding the politics whilst still getting the point across; we just cant afford war any longer, it is a luxury afforded to those with the money to burn, which always ends up as fossil fuel energy burnt.
In fact it is a shocking realisation, not forgetting the real cost is in lives, if all of the fortunes in the world were spent now on fossil fueled endeavour, war or otherwise, we are done, the resulting impact on global environment is way more than we can survive. War is just the fastest way to get us there, before we have any chance to allocate what needs to be allocated to solar, the only actual live energy from the only source of it.
The warmongers need to have their heads knocked togethe to realise this, all of them. But it is such a shame that we, all sides, have failed to protect the ordinary people of Ukraine, and all the other people suffering from war in the world, with human compassion alone.
