I was hoping you might have some structured, logical ideas as to why X actually exists. I offered my own opinion that it is just a soap box for Musk, he needs it to nurture the cult of Musk, its not necessarily beneficial to either Tesla or SpaceX, its just the cult of Musk, as far as I can see.
