I think you should be careful not to invest too much effort in "Dissing" hydrogen (Specifically green hydrogen), as it becomes ever more difficult to do a u-turn, the more we invest in a particular argument, as I am sure you already know.

If I am interpreting correctly, you probably also agree there is no such thing as renewable energy, only the energy of the sun, which created everything, and it isn't renewable.

So the energy of the sun is the only thing we really have to play with, it is the only source of Joules which are not already added to Earth, and those Joules are donated to us entirely for free.

All other forms of energy "Generation", are actually various means of extracting energy from the Joules of energy already added to Earth from sunlight, and for those, there are always costs in terms of work and pollution.

So as long as we are using energy other than direct from the sun, our standard business model of only providing energy in return for money, holds.

Whereas when we provide energy from the sun, we are actually duty bound to classify it as free, because the Joules of energy at the source of it are donated for free from the sun, we didn't have to do any work to extract it, so there should be no cost passed on for the use of it.

Further, since the Joules of energy received from solar are the only kind added to Earth, "On top" of those already here, so that valuable solar product put to use in our economy should be reflected by the issue of free money.

More is in my stories around "The Money-Fuel Tree", for anyone interested.
