I think you could be taking your eyes off the environmental problem, maybe distracted by politics, the global environmental and economic problem has not gone away, so any respite the US is experiencing for now is temporary, the forces at work are bigger than both parties in the US, indeed all parties of the world. Your fuel is still limited, though you might be getting enough solar to make a difference, it won't do much until money is issued on it, so your currency is destined to dive again, unless somehow Kardashev money as stimulus is being issued, outside our view.
