I think you are getting close to the truth with this, but notice even non profits have to work for profit, beyond the formal financial definition of profit, people still have to depend on them to live, they still have overheads that have to be met, clients and donors that need to be kept happy. We have to extend this to each of us as individuals, we all have to work for profit, all of us without exception, as things stand, and the profit itself is the energy con, the trick that steals energy from the planet, causing temperature rise just by E=MC squared every time, it all propagates down to energy by extraction.

We are locked into energy by extraction, by the requirement of all to need to be able to make the profit needed just to live, to obtain the 150 or so Joules per second we all need to metabolise 24/7 to keep breathing, when all else is said and done.

The only way out of this, the full system solution, is given by analysing the whole problem, the only solution is then fully dictated by the problem.

We have to switch completely to solar, this is the only energy added to Earth, the only one that which when used has the opposite effect on temperature, uss of it has to wind temperature back down, again just from E=MC squared.
