I think we have to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to religion, we should spot which parts of it are needed to understand things right now. In a different world, ie a mathematically positive powered world, we would be genuinely celebrating the birth of every new life, knowing that each one will add positively to good work on mathematically positive energy because all of it will have the opposite effect of the damage we can't help doing on mathematically negative energy.
What I just said there isn't religion, it's solid formal systems Engineering, but it sounds religious.
The trouble is if you throw it out because it sounds religious, then you are throwing out the solution to the energy problem.
It might be that this is the reason mainstream science misses the solution, always painting more of the problem as solution when it never was. Carbon taxes, carbon mitigation, etc can never fix the problem, only make it worse, yet that is what mainstream science says is the solution.
The solution is to switch to mathematically positive energy but we can only do that by issuing the free money needed to transmit it to everyone needing it, including our planet, to which we actually owe a lot of energy to be paid back. Every new life in that scenario will contribute to fixing the problem no matter what they do, all of it will count positively instead of negatively.
