I think the mental gymnastics needed to insert the fudge factor into the story just to make A=B rather than accept the much simpler and more likely case A <> B, is pretty impressive. Maybe the ability to do this enables other abilities of mental gymnastics to distract from the basics, like just mathematically signing the energy from sun to Earth positive, to show it is added to Earth, and the energy extracted from Earth negative, to show the latter is subtracted from Earth.
Otherwise we have to conclude humans really are from some other planet than Earth that we destroyed, because it is extremely weird that we spend so much time trying fudge things like the big bang theory, whilst operating in the system of profit which continuously extracts energy from the Earth, and goes proportionally straight to temperature / increase of entropy, since there can be no blanket effect in an adiabatic atmosphere, thus destroying the planet, without us even really being aware, since we failed to mathematically sign energy in order to discriminate which use of energy destroys, increasing entropy, and which use of energy creates, reducing entropy.
Why can't it just be that all electrons, all particles all mass, and all distances, all just continuously expand, infinitely?
How would we know, if the instruments we are trying use to measure and quantify expansion, are not themselves expanding?
