I think I mentioned previously, inspired by another of your articles, that I'd taken an interest in Yoruba (Or "Santeria" as it is known in Cuba, where I first came across it), the incredible energy and enthusiasm Cuba has for dancing and music comes from their religion, for sure, they believe the spirits speak to them through the drums, which are blessed by their priests of the religion.
Cubans literally live to party, they are robustly happy people despite the financial hardships they have to endure.
This is what inspired me to look to their religion, and I feel like I've learned a lot from it.
As I said before (I remember now), you would most likely be characterised as Elegua ("Eshu" in Brazil), imho, who is one of the more powerful Yoruban deities, known as a little mischievous, definitely with a sense of humor, when he is characterised by dancers, male or female, dressed in his traditional red and black colors, it is always with a huge grin, sometimes even screaming laughter :)
