I see the thrust you are making here, and the arguments pro capitalists are trying to make against it, as a fellow Engineer, seeing capitalism as not so great (It's destroying the planet!), I've found it useful to define capitalism I'm terms of energy, to clarify it's effects on the planet, which absolutely is suffering from capitalism:
Capital, in terms of energy is stored energy.
All economic capital is stored energy.
Money is energy. Money not "On the move", is stored energy.
Velue is only generated when energy moves, not when it is stored.
So the more energy there is tied up in capital, the less energy there is to go round, and below a certain level of energy left to go round, people and nature, everything depending on it, die, because we all have a minimum requirement to consume about 150 or so Joules per second 24/7 to live.
Sorry already complex, it gets worse, much worse, but hopefully that is enough to show it is unsustainable.
The key point is that capital is like big lumps of fat, "dead energy", in blood vessels, it prevents usable energy / blood getting to all the places / folk needing it.
We just don't notice the damage it does, at the places it is extracted from, because we personally are not undergoing the hardships experienced in the countries affected, the net flow of energy is from those places to the more capital rich places. This is colonialism in terms of energy.
The only way to break it down, is by dissolving it with free flowing, live energy.
If we each have the choice of whether we would like to be capital rich, or energy rich, we should choose to be energy rich, knowing that what we wanted to achieve (or did achieve at the expense of others), by wielding capital, is abundant energy for ourselves. If we find a way to have that, guaranteed, unconditionally, then we would probably choose that rather than going to the trouble of wielding capital, why not sit back and enjoy abundant free energy that requires no work, forever?
So the answer is solar, it is the only source of live energy. All other energy, the energy already existing on Earth is stored, and we are using it much faster than we can replace it, on course to remove it from all of life, much sooner than most realise, as stands.
We are not monetising solar, unfortunately, because all money is issued as debt, which requires energy gain to be repaid, recalling that money is energy, wherever money gain is required for money handed out, this requires energy gain, and since we don't acknowledge this, knowing also that energy can't be destroyed or created, it is a kind of energy con, an implicit theft of energy from the planet, which it now obviously can't afford.
This energy gain, or theft can't come from the sun because the sun delivers all energy for free, never anything asked in return, it can only give what it gives, there is no way to take more from it than we can see. Profit in terms of energy is impossible!
Yet we are all tied into that, by all business requiring to be for profit.
This is a purely systemic result, we might think there is some kind of evil cabal running it, but it's actually headless, an inhuman emergent property of all people becoming dependent on profit.
The only antidote is solar energy.
But to monetise it, we have to start issuing money on the economic product it creates.
Until that happens, as it has to, we are locked into tecghnical capitalism.
After it happens, as it has to, for the sake of all of life including us, we might say we finally moved to Energyism.
This is the only way out of technical Capitalism, which is actually a fatal illness for all of life.
Notice Communism appears to have become similarly dependent on it, so just changing government structure is no way out.
