I only have one masters degree, and an honors degree, but it's taken me to being a Chartered Engineer, and to PhD candidate, both of which were great jobs, until I started trying to fix what I see was a job for economists, but has become a job for Engineers, specifically Systems Engineers, courtesy of nature.
The trouble is, most economists and actually most people don't get this, that nature now has a very big hand in the economy, but still we don't in general see it yet, it looks like many don't want to see it, preferring instead to dig into their / our respective pigeonholes and identity commodification teams, blaming all the difficulties on the other teams we see all competing fur the same dwindling resource.
Because we are focused on what is dwindling, we are not seeing what is not dwindling, what is growing, what was even given to us for free. We think if no work had to be done for it then it must be worth nothing, because nobody gives anything for nothing, right?
The sun gives it all for free, and the economic product from what we use of it, which also worked to counteract temperature rise, has grown since 2005 to be worth hundreds of billions in every developed country.
But we never monetise it because money is only ever issued as debt, which is more or less a requisition to do the work of making energy profit from the planet, a requisiition to rip energy off of the planet. Notice Ai is coming for pretty much all of those great jobs you identify, including mine.
But because I know where we are going, and it's a pretty cool place, at least for our kids, I feel ok about it.
We are heading for a world of free energy, and energy is everything, including money. Pretty soon we will see it issued to all people as solar indexed stimulus, because this is the only way to monetise economic product created by energy given for free.
Until that is done, we will see all money devalued to nothing, by nature.
This is besides, and in addition to nature clobbering us with climate change.
Its a proper assault on us, by nature, money is our balls, and personal security is our head, she is beating on both simultaneously, and she's much bigger than us. We are already beat, but just don't know it yet.
