I normally try to stay away from getting involved in discussions which seem miles away from my main subject in Medium; the energy and environment problem.

But I am delighted to say this looks relevant.

One of the funniest doctor doctor jokes I ever heard, was the story of the guy who goes to the doctor to complain about his problem of having to entertain three different partners every day, and as the story unfolds, we expect him to be about to ask the doc for something to help him "keep it up", but instead he complains "It hurts when I wank!".

The insanity of some crazy guy still feeling like masturbating, in addition to having three daily partners is the thing hilarious.

Does it not occur to you as relevant, that for a man, orgasms are something more of a physical zero-sum game, than they are for a woman?

There is obviously a huge difference between the energy required to do the work of a male orgasm, vs the work involved in a female orgasm.

In a man, power is needed to inflate and maintain the rigid member, for example, and then more to create ejaculate, which if healthy is also loaded with active sperm. Those are all things not featured in the female orgasm, far as I know, therefore don't require consumption or availability of that energy.

To do that more than maybe 6 times in a day is quite a feat for a man, even a highly driven, fit, younger guy with no drugs. Whereas for a woman, well... 36 or more seems effortless. So the woman is obviously capable of far more orgasms than the man per day.

So rubbing one off, for the woman, is much less consequential than for the man, she still has plenty left for her partner, whereas men probably should save all for the partner, if they are lucky enough to have one (or more!). Otherwise she likely to be disappointed, like you say.

Isn't that a more likely explanation than it being we think so differently about sex and porn? Or is that complementary to your deduction?
