I never considered this angle, thanks for posting about it. It is maybe a powerful argument, and yet it comes as no surprise.

You seem to be well on the way to seeing all the bad there is to see about fossil fuels. Does it occur to you that what we consume as a species, is what we are in effect?

Obviously all species of life need energy, and most are solar powered - we seem to be the only one that isn't, and the only one which is really, really not good, so far.

Everyone claiming that morals are just social constructs, independent of any religions, or any source of the energy we consume, is unlikely to accept this, therefore they will always be stuck on the idea that we need fossil fuels, and/or nuclear, or other form of extracted (dark!) energy, which we are tied into by our economy built on promises to pay, it seems to me.

Also, pretty much all centralised establishments need the high energy density of fossil fuels or other extracted energy, and we see the effects of those establishments in the longer run isn't so good.

How can we ever get folk, the empire builders, who have denied the relevance of religion, all of their lives, therefore committing all manner of "sin" to now do a u-turn, and admit that at least some of religion was right all along?
