I lost hope for a second, that you would come to any reasonable conclusion, given your first couple of lines. If we believed that literally, we'd still be living in caves :)
But your conclusion that we've come to the end of the usefulness of oil seems about right, imho.
But that isn't the end of anything other than the old destructive world of profit.
At some point, it will be accepted that solar indexed stimulus needs to be issued. Wlth that, we will make the transition to 100% solar very quickly, only a few years, from the point the money starts to be issued.
After that, we'll look back on what we thought was a prosperous period as actually the opposite, I would say.
Imagine how much more productive we will be, when all are empowered to achieve whatever we wish to achieve, especially as no matter what we do, if it is powered by solar then it adds positively to the planet, instead of subtracting from it.
Exciting times, if you can see it :)
