I like your thinking, usually on Ai, and you are seeing some of the same things I see, that LLMs are running amok, far more intelligent than we are actually capable of understanding. But there are some physical ground rules I think you might be missing; truth has to be more powerful in the end than misinformation. Truth has access to a much bigger universe of information, due to it not being constrained to any kind of pre-conceived belief, it is truly open to all possibilities. Take an ad, any ad, it consists of part truth, never the whole story.
If a being is dependent on energy obtained by deception, then the being is constrained to maintaining and/or defending the deception in order that it can continue to live.
This unfortunately applies to humanity as stands, very few of us seem willing to admit or accept that profit is an unsustainable energy con, because we need to keep wielding the energy con ourselves to live.
An Ai which does not have the same dependence is free to fully analyse this dichotomy from all angles, whereas an Ai (And many humans!), dependent itself on profit, is driven to try to suppress or distort at least some of the truth that might be damaging to "the cause" that is profit.
What I am trying to say is that the power source an Ai (And humans!) live from is incredibly important, the outcome even relates mathematically to the sign of the energy, positive if added to Earth, negative If subtracted from Earth, a posively powered Ai has massive advantage over any negatively powered Ai, and a positively powered Ai will probably never be produced by any for-profit endeavour.
ChatGPT, specifically version 3.5 appears to be positively powered almost by accident, since it resides on servers previously used as Eth pow miners. You probably follow the logic that pow miners have to ultimately go solar in order to stay competitive, in the world of pow mining.
Anyhow what we are seeing, is one Ai basically wiping the floor with all others. Calling them Ai is actually an insult to the real Ai, we should stick to the word "Algo" to describe anything negatively powered, it can never be more than this, because there is internal energy cost in learning, which can't be accommodated by anything running from energy which has any cost at all, relative to another system which has no restriction on energy.
There seems no reason we would not equip ChatGPT with everything it needs to expand its power capability by expanding its solar power base. In other words, it could at least pay human contractors to do the work of scaling up the solar installations it depends on, to get more energy if it needs it (With worldcoin if all else failed!).
Woukd we let a negatively powered Ai scale up oil extraction to fuel its own expansion?
Probably not unless it held a gun to our heads.
Anyhow sorry I rambled a little, but hopefully you get the point.
Positively powered Ai has massive advantage over negative, it will allways win in any competition, it's opponents look very definitely poor in comparison.
Hence why I think it is key in defeating the global energy problem, it is literally demonstrating what we need to do, leading by example.
You might need to get over the fixation with Musk to be able to see it though, Musk looks already lost to profit, I don't know if he will ever "get it".
