Here is an indisputable reason we have to move to solar:
Whatever we create from solar which is not heat, is a reduction of temperature by definition, this is reversal of increasing entropy, and only life does it.
Its not possible to do this using energy extracted from the planet.
Critics will then turn to CO2, saying this will make little difference to CO2. Again maybe true, but CO2 does not have the effect on temperature claimed, because the atmosphere is adiabatic, there has to be little real blanket effect, if any.
So it is really important we know the difference between creation and dstruction after all, because this is actually the main temperature driver.
In all cases of energy extracted from the planet, we are taking something that wasnt heat, and converting it to heat, whilst grabbing a little of the energy yielded.
This is destruction by definition, adding to increase of entropy, thus also temperature rise.
That fact should change completely the way we think about efficiency, because look, if a kg of hydrogen is created using electrolysis from solar, this is 33KWhrs of energy removed from the worst case heating effect on the planet, if neither us or nature used it, regardless of efficiency!
Do the same consideration on extracted energy, and we find its impossilbe to create hydrogen in a way that reduces temperature at all.
In fact its just impossible to create, using any extracted energy whatsoever, we can never get the temperature back down by extracted energy, even "Renewables" those too add to temperature rise, only solar can be used with negative temperature impulse.
That should be seen as really good news, it is the way out of the extracted energy cul-de-sac we've driven into, all at profit, the latter itself being a dishonest energy con.

Money is energy, always, physically, so when money makes money, or when a little energy expended as labor is returned with a lot more energy as money, the energy gained had to come from somewhere. Follow the supply chains through, and we always end up at the planet. The energy gained in profit was stolen from the planet, at the cost of destruction done, and temperature rise. Now we know the real reason for the planet starting to burn.
To stop doing the destruction, we have to stop monetising it. So we have to stop all business for profit. We will do that, by removing the need of all people to have "Gainful" employment, and for all business to have "Gainful" business, by supplying all with money issued directly in response to econonomic product created from solar.
We need to do that also for historical economic product already created from solar, but never monetised, to date, because all money issued was for profit, all it monetised was product created from destruction, not actual creative product, product which adds to existing stocks of things without subtracting from anything else.
Everything created from solar is truly for free, because nothing was asked for it in return by the sun. only that we use it, or burn, and this includes monetising it. Failure to do that, whilst we are creating economic product unmonetised, is the real reason for inflation, and a burning planet.
The overall solution is everyone being incentivised and enabled to install their own hydrogen backed solar installations, on a domestic and community basis by the issue of solar indexed stimulus including backlog.
This way, all aerospace can be kept airborne by using excess hydrogen created by everyone collectin much more solar than they need for their own use, dumping the excess into hyrogen, and supplying that to all aerospace and other transportation, which can all keep their old ICE engines, with a few mods, and we will quickly master the art of liquefying hydrogen at room temperature, because research on that has been nobbled to date by fossil fuel industries.
