I like that you quickly latch onto new metrics, to talk about new technological advances, this is a quality and mindset that makes your articles particularly powerful, I think.

Personally I hope EV mfrs will get over the fascination with batteries, substituting for hydrogen fuel cells making EVs HEVs where possible, maybe swallowing some losses of efficiency for the added convenience of quicker refueling and more ubiquitous refueling points likely from domestic and community solar producers of hydrogen, not to mention also the beneficial side effect of potential drinking water circulation by HEVs.

This would remove the horrendous planetary effects of massive processing of toxic battery contents. As long as that still is done, and is planned to be done, all the effects of exploitation and pollution of the majority (Unheard) for the luxury of the minority (Advertised) will continue, it seems to me.
