I kind of agree with you here, if there is no financial incentive already for doing the crime, like there was when Assange was accused of rape in Sweden, the government there was offering women financial rewards for "Fingering" men (Sorry for the pun, I couldn't resist), before they had even been arrested or brought to court... It was an opposite extreme, and look where Assange still is now.

I don't see any problem with giving even all hardened criminals, the ones who commit crime for money, UBI fit for kings and queens, to remove the incentive to commit financially driven crime.

That is what will happen, when Kardashev money kicks in.

But the folk who do crimes just for plain ole evil, of course there still needs to be a crime and justice system of some kind still, to deal with them.

Imagine though every employee remaining of that legal and justice system will be doing it voluntarily, since all will be on the same robust solar powered UBI. Not many would volunteer to do that, I guess, but not many would be needed, because crime rates would be a fraction of what they were before, and the ones who did volunteer, would be doing it for love of humanity, no other reason.

Like you say, the real criminals need to be brought to justice.

As for shell executives receiving carbon credits, those are the basis for quite a big slice of supposedly "Renewables" business, which doesn't fix the problem, just becomes dependent on it ("Bullshit business"), and thus perpetuates the crime. Effectively they are all paid for doing the crime.

If somehow fossil fuels disappeared tomorrow, it would all collapse, instantly.
