I interpret these as a chain of deduction whereas you appear to be considering them in isolation.

(1) An intelligence with sufficient technology to simulate us is unlikely to evolve; (2) any intelligence with sufficient technology to simulate us is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of our evolutionary history (or variations thereof); (3) we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation.
