I don't agree Medium allows everyone to thrive though.

Only those towing the line of the platform owners get their stories promoted, if they even have a voice at all in Medium.

My own stories, often question the effect on society, and on the planet, of all platforms dependent on taking energy via money from the user base, where I describe technically the alternative, necessary even to save the planet, now we have solar power, the platform itself could be solar powered, as could all platforms, thus reversing the net energy flow from planet through users to platform, to from sun through platforms to users, who then would output only benefit to the planet.

We actually need to do this to stop the planetary destruction which is manifesting most noticeably as increased temperature.

No amount of business for profit managing carbon or other weird "Green" business will stop the deterioration of environment, because its the energy in profit itself which is extracted from the planet and mostly thrown to heat energy, which then acts on the thermal mass of the planet to raise temperature.

The energy gathered to fund Medium is no different, it's part of the problem, but of course my stories drop into a vacuum, shadow banned by the platform algos, which are all for profit, no conception of non profit, therefore my stories make no sense to them.

Notice also Android app only users are handicapped in a way that Medium effectively blocks the poorest folk in the poorest of circumstances from having any say at all.

Virtually none. The silent, non-human controlled, negative powered system silences their voices.

It's generally only the voices of us Western commodified education mass-produced energy-slave-ants that are seen in Medium.
