I have a teenage daughter (19) who loves Tic Tok, and YouTube, and actually all the social media and has no issues.
Do you have any kids?
I would suggest before condemning Tik Toc, to ask them if that is what they want.
It doesn't belong to us, it belongs to them, they are the users of it.
Taking it from them isn't about helping the kids using it, it is about cutting them off from a source of information which comes from a rival company of the US pet youtube, and a rival culture of US pet greed cult capitalism, which actually is far more likely to be to blame for the reason kids are depressed about their futures.
Will it make them happier to be at war with China?
No, but that is what this anti China hysteria, not by kids, but by us adults, is building up to, yet they will be expected to fight in it.
I just see stories like this one as war prepping, aimed at kids.
I would guess if this story is popular, then it makes some money for you, or maybe it makes some money anyway. Either way it puts you on the payroll, validating your story, at least to you.
We've made the world the poor place it is for kids, not them, and not Tik Toc.
Why make it any worse?
