I hate to say this, but we actually need some baddies from outer space to focus our military attention on, rather than focusing on one another.

This might not sound very scientific, but I am not a scientist, rather an Engineer, a systems Engineer of almost thirty years, which often includes analysing stakeholder interests.

Having studied the energy problem now for more than five years, and all of the stakeholders, there is becoming clear to me a kind of solid logic, which says we can't, and will never escape our planet using an economy of capitalism, derived from profit, colonialism and slavery, which is dependent on energy from extraction, the labor of extraction being an unavoidable source of all toxic pollution, therefore progressively destroying our survivable environment.

Rather, we will burn on our planet, and if we survive at all, maybe produce something like fusion, which the most violently powerful can, and would take control of, to have ultimate power over all people. Very soon after that, Geo-Engineering would go ahead and increase the reflectivity of Earth, to eliminate any remaining possibility of ordinary folk dodging around the extracted energy and power monopoly.

But those in power would not be clever enough to understand and believe that a side effect of such Geo-Engineering would be to push our planet out of orbit, away from the sun, by increased solar pressure.

Then with no sun we would become a dark planet, with only fusion to power us, we would find a way to convert some of that energy to propulsion, to propel our dark planet towards other planets of conquest.

Our skin would lose all capability of dealing with sunlight. But also, we would become aware that we had drastically shortened the life of, and the entire future of our species, through personal greed, and by not understanding the true nature of energy, which all comes from the sun, as a donation, no need to extract, but it is distributed, not suited to centralised power structures created by greed and ego.

At some point we would encounter a planet with living beings in the earlier stages of evolution. We would most efficiently conquest that planet in a way that a part of us would survive, by genetically merging some of our own genetics, enhanced to evolve intelligence rapidly, with the genetics of the natives of the planet.

We would do that in waves, altering the genetic mix each time, to obtain redundancy, with a view to maximising the chances of survival of the new hybrid species, thus creating races.

Some of thoe races would be more prone to our old ways of greed and ego, and others would be less so.

But the less greedy would be more adapted to the natural ways of the planet, entirely solar powered.

We would leave the hybrid species, to sort itself out over time. We might even return now and then, to check "Progress", and we would leave the hybrid species with guidelines, advice, that they would consider as religions, most applicable to each race.

In time, there would come a point in their evolution, when they would have to choose between sharing the donated energy of the sun using their technology, or ruling all with greed and a centralised power source like fusion, just like we did.

Our interest on our dark planet, still ruled by greed and ego, would probably be to ensure our descendent hybrid species made the same choice as us, to break their planet off from the sun and come forth into the darkness of space just like we did, to perhaps accompany us, their ancestors, increasing our force.

After this cycle of conquesting planets had been repeated several times, we would find some broke off successfully, but statistically there would be some others who escaped and went solar powered.

Those who went solar powered with a united, full species, fully compatible with both their planet and its energy source, the sun, with no death count of "Geniuses" through perpetual profit driven wars, and thus with unlimited wealth, would quickly find ways to build interplanetary spacecraft, and achieve lifetimes close to immortality due to massive funds for non profit pro-life research.

There would always be animosity between these forces of light and dark, they could never be united.

If somehow all of this happened to be the truth (And why shouldn't it be), there are two kinds of visitors, those who come by planet, and those who come by spacecraft.

If they come by planet, we better be ready with planet destroying capability to beat them off, or be ready to accept a dark future of slavery.

If they come by spacecraft, then they mean no harm, with probably much positive to offer.

Personally, I hope we go down the solar powered route, but don't forget what might be out there, to put an end to the peace loving world we would have, if we were 100% solar powered.

That would give us a target to focus our military on, if they were no longer focused on one another of our own species, divided by race and geography.

It all makes sense, if we understand Kardashev Money.

And besides, we are nowhere near getting fusion, and seem to be edging ever closer to nuclear war.
