I don't think they saw coming the end of profit, courtesy of solar powered Ai. If the Chinese were that clever they would already be solar hydrogen powered. But the monetisation of solar necessary to enable that will destroy all possibility of governing by force, and I would guess the Chinese government might be the last on Earth to ever accept that.
