I don't think it does any good to present "Solarpunk" as some kind of romantic political revolutionary movement, as seems to be your motivation. All this does is dilute and disguise the technical information presented by folk like me, who are doing our best to educate on the technical developments, including our own work, which are inevitably leading to a solar powered humanity.
This is not something debateable, something that might or might not happen depending on the whims of whoever might be in power, or even who siezes power. It is hard physics, impacting economics and everything we do, even how we think. So it transcends politics. It is the only possible sustainable survival mode for an energy hungry intelligent species living on any planet orbiting a star, which is its only actual energy source.
There is no guarantee that we will do it at all, because not many seem to understand energy, far less explain it to others, and of course the majority need to understand it, for it to be acted on.
As long as we are distracted by politics, we won't do it, it seems to me.
