I don't see it as negatively at all, because I see the way out. It just isn't a certainty that we will choose to take it, and we have to choose it as a species.
So I see you writing articles like this is being much more important than might be indicated by their apparent popularity in Medium, or even as indicated by yourself.
The important thing is you expressed it.
Again I don't agree eye-to-eye with all of it, but I do agree and even resonate with about 95% of it.
On the negative and positive use of energy, we might notice nature itself, via trees, uses energy positively and negatively.
It uses a tiny bit to push each tree up to the point it shoots leaves.
In that time the energy flow through the tree is upwards, from roots to formation of leaves, which is in the opposite direction of the energy from sun to Earth.
So in that time the energy flow in the tree is negative.
At some point, the energy through the tree changes direction, and begins to conduct the energy received from the sun, through the leaves, to the roots of the tree, exiting into Earth as nutrients.
So the energy flow through the tree becomes positive, and stays so, for the life of the tree.
Note much more positive energy was received in return, in relation to the tiny bit of negative energy required to attract the positive energy.
Note also that after the transition from negative to positive energy flow happens in the tree, it grows to a size making the original shoot look microscopic in comparison.
Now compare with humanity. Almost all energy used by us to date was, and is negative.
We've used that energy to grow our species to the size it is.
And now we are starting to sprout leaves, in the form of solar farms, all over Earth, and so the energy we are using is in actual process of transition, from negative to positive, in an almost perfect analogy to a single tree.
We have to conclude we are an infant species, like the infant tree.
Whether we get to see the transition through to its natural conclusion, seems to be largely up to us.
It is all down to what we believe, and have faith in, as a species, it seems to me.
We can ignore this reality, or we can carry on dreaming we can stay an infant forever, and perish in that dream, it seems to me.
Your post gives me hope that the right outcome will come about.
When you see this, it is obvious Geo-engineering could never be a positive thing.
That would be like nailing the lid down on our own airtight coffin :)
We just gotta get busy using solar, and all else falls into place, it seems to me.
