I don't mean this to sound inflammatory, I agree with you no-one should have a lifestyle enforced on them, at least not by anyone except mother nature. But does it occur to you, that believing life has to have fear, pain, and hardship, is the perfect slave mentality, perfect for totalitarian control? I don't see Marjan's proposal as an advocation of totalitarianism, just a wish that things could be more sustainable and equitable.
