I don't feel like there will be any possible salvation somewhere else, to me it looks like we have one chance, right now. We might even say nature is putting us to a kind of test, and this test is what we were created for, a kind of experiment by nature, to see if there is any kind of life that can create (reverse entropy) even more effectively than plants coupled with "unintelligent" mammals, and all the supporting creatures.
We have the potential to do this, we could green the planet again in only about forty years, less than an average human lifetime, if we just started to do the right thing as a species, work with the only energy that can be used to reverse entropy (only solar), to undo pretty much all of the harm done by using energy extracted from the planet, not only fixing it, but fixing it thousands of times over.
We have this potential, but whether or not we realise it enough as a species to make the needed change is the big question being asked of us, it seems to me.
Exciting times! I feel priveliged already just to be seeing it, whatever the outcome, and bet you do too :)
