I couldn't agree more, thanks for posting. I see pretty much the same thing, from an energy system point of view.

I find it useful to consider trees as the energy handling model our species needs to emulate, in order to finally become fully sustainable.

I don't know if I described this to you before, if I did, I haven't seen a reaction, so will assume you didn't see it, so here it is again:

The energy flow in a tree shoot, which fuels the shoot until the point it sprouts leaves, has to be from the ground upwards, into the shoot, in the form of nutrients entering via its roots.

This is in the opposite direction from the energy flowing from the sun to Earth, so we might say it is a negative energy flow.

When the shoot sprouts leaves, the leaves begin to absorb energy from the sun, so the energy flow in the shoot has to change direction from that point onwards, to positive, for the remainder of the life of the tree.

It seems maybe unknown to conventional science the possibility that the flow of nutrients in a tree can and must change direction, to flow from leaves to Earth after formation of the leaves, but from a systems Engineering point of view, knowing how much energy the tree absorbs in its lifetime, and the bidirectional nature of energy conduits in general, this looks like a no-brainer, of course it must change direction.

So the purpose of the tree in nature is to conduct the energy of the sun, the only source of energy, to the creation of all of life on Earth.

When we compare the way we've used energy to date, it looks like pretty much all of it is negative, almost all of the energy we use is from finite stores on Earth, even nuclear, and all of these involve the effort of extraction, by means of our money-as-debt economy, every promise to pay is a promise to extract.

But now, and for the past twenty years or so, we are sprouting our human equivelents of leaves, in the form of solar farms all over Earth.

As yet, we have not formally incorporated the effects of that into our economy. Such incorporation requires that we issue money reflecting those valuable Joules, received by donation from the sun, put to use by us, therefore adding to the existing human economic capital of Earth.

Until now that capital has always been considered a constant, but now there is a physical addition which is not being accounted for, amounting already to a flow of tens of Giga-Joules per second, in every country.

Because the product is donated for free from the sun, with no extraction labor for the Joules received, the only way it can be authentically reflected by issue of money, is to issue the money for free to all people.

The markets know instinctively whether or not that has been done, since the product is the thing of value, not the money, when money is not issued reflecting product that should be reflected, the value of money declines in markets. Hence we see inflation in all currencies, and now we understand why.

So to recover the value of money in markets, it has to be issued to reflect the solar product received and put to use.

But when free money is issued, this removes all value in capital, as we saw when 4Tn was issued in US, at the same time as oil also went negatively priced, gold and even bitcoin languished, stocks in bankrupt but still loved companies soared, the dollar value itself went up, profit driven whale investors fled the markets claiming "Something had gone wrong with money", and the courts in US changed the rules to allow it to continue.

The same will happen again, when tens of millions of folk bankrupted by inflation hit the streets demanding free money, it will be given, and this time left on.

That will be the precise moment we might say we finally achieved Kardashev 1.0, the moment when "Kardashev Money" is issued to all people. Of course when we get it, we will be incentivised to further scale up solar infrastructure, to complete our transition to 100% solar power.

This is how I see our current situation, we are like the shoot of a tree which has survived to the point it begins to absorb the true unlimited energy of its environment, direct from the only source of it, the sun. The direction of energy flow through our species is in process of turning, right now, from negative to positive.

I believe this was what was meant by the biblical "End of days", it all makes sense to me now.

Of course it isn't a certainty yet that we will survive, like any newborn, there is a fair chance something could go wrong, someone might press a nuclear trigger or something equally stupid, and our species effectively dies unborn.

But I doubt it, I really believe we can and will do what is necessary now to get onto the next phase; growing to adulthood as a species united towards that one common goal.
