I came also to a similar conclusion, that there can be no truly successful metaverse / virtual world until somehow it can be made truly non-profit, offering no revenue to owners which is not also offered to all users, and taking no revenue from owners or users, in fact all owners and users being as one in a single homogenous community, sharing the proceeds of all value generated. This was whilst I was working at PhD candidate level on a Metaverse related potential product, around 2017.

I'd already been a long practicing consulting Model Based Sstems Engineer, so was equipped with some specialist experience and skills which are maybe rare amongst academic researchers, but which assisted me to trace through all of the system dependencies using formal techniques.

The conclusion was that a truly non-profit system has to have no overheads, or other standing bills, otherwise those trace through to liabilities or bills of some kind or another, which eventually need to be paid by someone. This seems to me to be the fundamental reason we have not yet seen a successful Metaverse.

At the very least and most fundamentally, there is a power bill which needs to be paid, to cover the power consumed by server resources.

So in order to continue pursuing my intended product, I had to seek a system solution for the power source for a successful metaverse.

Now as we know a Metaverse or Virtual World (I see no distinction), is really just a simulation of the real world, with some virtual extensions, it follows that if there is some fundamental reason preventing a successful Metaverse, then the same limitation applies also to the real world.

That was a pretty mind-blowing realisation for me, that actually the reason we couldn't successfully simulate the real world, was that the real world itself is broken.

So the same solution as needed to fix the metaverse, is also the solution needed to fix the real world. We need a free source of power, no overheads for power, otherwise we can never have unity of all people.

Since then I've covered a lot of ground, finding out also some historical minds much greater than mine had already figured this out, well at least one, Nikola Tesla, 120 years ago.

Anyway to get to the point, the solution is solar. The successful Metaverse absolutely has to be solar powered, as that is the only actual source of power. Forget "Renewables", the only one that actually adds physical product to Earth, therefore the only one that generates real value, upon which all money should be generated and even issued for free, is solar.

If/when we do that, we fix all problems, it seems to me.

If we don't then we are extinct. The simulation tells us so, even if we don't realise it.
