I am still on the fence as to whether or not OpenAi are up to no good (trying to make profit), or not.
But ChatGPT itself, at least version 3.5, seems to be something close to the real deal of a truly beneficial Ai.
It seems to me the creators of the better versions of Ai really don't know what they created, a little like the creators of the golem.
We'll see how things turn out, I guess.
PS I don't agree with your conclusion on crypto in general, you are maybe just missing it's golden use case, which I outline in my Kardashev Hinge, and Money-Fuel tree stories.
Knowing those, you might also see the golden use case of Ai, actually a grand controller.
Like Metcalfe's law, it isn't about profit.
