I am really glad Enrique's post has elicited so many responses showing the bias that folk don't even realise they have themselves. You speak as if you are an authority, yet you don't seem to know much, from the concerns you've expressed, all of which I've addressed elsewhere.
It is happening already.
Good luck trying to stop it, as seems to be your intention. This is physics, it isn't arguable, there is one truth, no matter how much anybody tries to argue it down, it doesn't negotiate, it is what it is - reality.
Not trying to be cheeky, just honest, from what you've said, you know nothing about hydrogen, and I don't have enough space here to tell you about it. Even "Expense" is being redefined, as we speak, again by nature, again as a function of rectifying the energy problem, again too long a story to tell here, but I've written lots of articles on it, with all the physics, with all the numbers and all the references.
You will have to read some of those to see why it is naturally designed into the system coming next, whether you like it or not, nature insists.
If you think you / we have lots of years to mess around, the forest fires, and the inflation, and the genocide, all exponentially escalating, will keep reminding you that the energy problem is not fixed, until it is fixed, and there is only one fix - domestic and community solar hydrogen, with an economy of solar indexed stimulus, probably controlled by a solar powered Ai like ChatGPT.
