I am one of the biggest sci fi fans anyone could ever know, but to me, nuclear technology seems associated with an awful lot more death, than life.

The sun is the only reasonably safe nuclear plant.

Yet we ignore it, and try to create replicas of it.

Why is that?

Profit.

We can’t profit from the sun.

Yet it could power all of humanity, whilst solving all of our problems of environmental damage, and feeding on ourselves as a species.

If we turned to it, it would eliminate all profit, by eliminating all scarcity.

It, is the single source of all life and all things we know, and for sure anywhere else we might ever like to visit will have to have one very similar.

Profit, by definition, is the fundamental element which humanity uses to feed on itself, and pursue things like nuclear technology whilst ignoring the sun.

That, is the thing making our species very sick, it seems to me.

We are so sick with it, we can’t even see it.
