I am hoping I see your point, but this sentence seems to contradict a little, is this what you meant to say? To me it isn't fear of anonymity you mean, it's more a fear of being naked and seen for who we really are, with all our flaws and imperfections laid bare for all to see and scrutinise. The sales pitch we emit about ourselves is surely the mask, whereas the real, physical us, is ourselves with no mask, no sales pitch, plain for all to see. Is this what you really mean?
