I am a long practiced Systems Engineer, focused on the energy problem. I lost my only sibling aged ten, she was my sister aged seven. She died of kidney cancer.
Personally I don't think we will see any cures for cancer until the profit driven system is ended.
Big business makes more profit from maintenance of illness, rather than cures. This should be obvious to most folk seeing the covid fiasco, though I am not critical of folk avoiding pointing it out. We can see it at play in many things, eyecare, dentistry, the link between diabetes, food, and insulin, nobody seems to want to question having the same authorities advising and legislating food, drugs, and medical practice.
I believe there is evidence linking pollution with incidence of cancer.
We should know this instinctively, how can we expect to be living with so much plastic in the environment, and not suffer from it.
Cancer is only avoided by luck now, and it is clear our luck is running out.
So to me you are right, it is a systemic issue, and the solution is systemic.
The solution is to fix the energy problem, which has systemically tied us into all things for profit throughout the industrial revolution.
I believe we should have made this change around the time of Nikola Tesla, this is the change he tried to make, around 1900, but was cancelled for.
Now, we are seeing the energy problem being fixed by domestic and community solar, it can be backed by hydrogen to produce clean fuel replacing all fossil fuels.
But money, free money, has to be issued on the solar product put to use, otherwise money has to lose value, hence the real reason for the inflation we are seeing. Utilities energy business is actually shrinking, being driven down by free energy, it is only a matter of time until this becomes general knowledge, and has to be admitted and accepted by money issuers.
Until then, inflation has to remove all spending power from pretty much any project. This will happen very suddenly, but we can see the signs already, all business, even energy supply business, is struggling to maintain solvency, all are requiring to be propped up by free money.
Sorry seemingly random, rambling response to your heartfelt story, but you are very correct, the problem is systemic, the whole system of humanity being driven for profit is the problem.
Fix that, as seems to be happening, driven by nature, and we will see an end to cancer, I believe.
