I agree your opinion of Caitlin's and Indi's writings. I don't know if you are familiar with the Medium Android app, it was updated not very long ago, to become something almost unusable by anyone wishing to use Medium seriously. It strikes me that a lot more folk such as Indi would be writing in Medium, if it was not for the unusability of the app, as most of those good folk will not have access to PCs, so we are not getting a balanced view in Medium, as things stand, it seems to me.
