I agree with you on the Lithium for batteries, it crazy that kgs of lithium are needed per kWhr of energy stored. Hence why I emphasise hydrogen is much more doable on a global scale.
Its disingenuous to try conflate that with the relative infinitesimally tiny traces of rare elements required in most electronics manufacture though, just like it's disingenuous to throw solar energy usage in with "Renewables".
I wish you could see you are throwing the baby out with the bathwater there :)
