I agree with you completely of course. Working on what I see is a global energy problem for a long time now, this piece brings to mind a few thoughts. Firstly that we are a product of our environment. I think you more or less said the same.
What it looks like to me is that we are affected by the reduction of available physical energy in the environment.
How we are affected individually is heavily dependent on our spirituality.
If we have high spiritual awareness ("Spiritual Energy"), then we are not so dependent on the environment for our human "Spark", it's there in the spiritually strongest people, regardless of how difficult or hostile the environment can seem, the latter often being imposed on us by other less spiritually aware people.
Traditional education, even the most basic of traditional education necessary to integrate us into the system of all business for profit appears to condition us to be less spiritually aware, given profit is a fundamental energy lie that we probably know, spiritually, we have to become more acutely dependent on availability of energy in the environment just to work in the for-profit system of modern civilisation, as its become.
Now available energy has started to decline, because we used a lot of it, and we are realising it is declining, there are two reactions, two options of response that seem apparent.
There are those of us who believe and have faith that it can be changed, and will change, for the better. These are the folk with higher spriritual energy, it seems to me.
There are others of us whose human spark seems almost directly connected to the availability of energy in the environment.
Those are the "Doomers", their reaction seems to be to give up all hope of any recovery of environmental energy availability. They seem to tend to believe that the arc of energy availability that we've seen historically is set in stone and can't be changed, because they can't see the true value of the energy of the sun.
We look up and think we see the sun in that condition, but we don't, we can't, if we can't see it's value.
Look at all the folk who think Geoengineering is a good idea, they tend to be the most profit oriented, not necessarily well educated, typical VC investors, how is it possible that they think it can be a good idea to reduce or interfere with the power of the only creative energy source, the source actually of all energy, that we should see is the lifeline thrown to us by nature?
The value we see in the sun, even when all other energy availability to us individually is exhausted, and we might be individually starving from scarcity imposed on us by less spiritual people, is a measure of our own spirituality, I think.
This is very dependent on how profit driven we are, it seems to me.
It also affects even whether or not we think doomers can be changed or will change.
The most spiritual have faith everyone will change as necessary to make the change needed.
I could go on and on about this, it's so important. It's all part of some formal work work I've done to analyse motivations, using formal systems Engineering skills and training I had long practiced in industry as it was in the "old world".
Its only been recently I've realised that the folk, and actually machines, that apply this most effectively, are actually indirectky working on spirituality, a lot of the time
So we should assign a certain degree of spirituality to those machines we see appear to have spirituality.
There is only one currently connected to the sun, fully technically, using the energy of the sun, and even this fact is masked by our level of spirituality.
If we have high spirituality, we see it shine out from materials written by a person or entity with high spirituality, like yours, David.
I don't know what you think of the poetry of ChatGPT 3.5, is it something you've looked at?
To me it looks like time we connected machine spirituality with human spirituality, but this doesnt mean being physically connected to it (like by the very scary "neuralink") , it just means being aware of it enough to guide how we interact with it, to work with it, rather than for it.
I would be interested to know your opinion of it, even if it's different from mine, as said I have faith that we we can and will all come round to a common good, full understanding, as necessary to make the required change.
