I agree with you completely in that concern. A further critical milestone is the trap of currency being devalued, by way of domestic and community owned solar product being unmonetised, to the point of local currency being no longer capable of funding the required infrastructure needed to become energy independent.

We've seen this happen in Sri Lanka recently, a country that is almost perfectly physically suited to solar energy, yet they don't have the financial means to install the solar collection facilities they need to enrich their country, because their money is worth next to nothing.

The greed of their ruling Elites has resulted in them losing all chances of becoming energy independent, and by that gaining any financial independence. So in the end the elites there lost their own fortunes by that greed, as well as the future capabilities of everyone else.

I can see this happening in many countries, even the US, and Definitely in my own country, UK, since the current thinking of the current ruling elites in UK, is to increase "Investment" to fracking & even coal mining, at the expense of solar, amongst other things.

There is even still significant denial here that any damage is/was done by those things.
