I agree with you. Same problems here in Europe, just to a lesser extent. Colonialism seems to be the underlying problem mentality; the basic belief in personal possession and scarcification. The US has probably the most colonial foundation of all countries. After all, individuals just went there, mostly from here in Europe (Especially UK), claimed it as theirs alone, and violently defended their possession ever since. The Romans did the same to Europe before that, only they were much more organised. Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised to see that mentality still dominating DNA, to a lesser extent maybe here in Europe, but it is everywhere, and seems a deeply unhappy way to be.
