I agree with three cents worth. Imho the author of the anti religion article should look at the religion originally from Africa, Yoruba, and the versions of it syncretised to christianity to maybe understand more why religions might exist. For sure any religion that becomes something done for profit is no longer religion, but actually a business. This is something both the moslem and christian faiths at least warn about, because they both abhor slavery, it seems to me. So to me it isn't religions you should be blaming, but the businesses pretending to be religions, who used and abused people for profit.
If it is any consolation, iit looks like the necessary switch of humanity from energy extracted from Earth, to the energy of the sun, needed to prevent and reverse further global burning, brings with it a requirement to cease profit, since profit is dependent on energy extracted from Earth.
So ironically, physics and science is coming to align with religions, the forner also having to throw out profit.
Slavery will just not be profitable after that.
I think that will make a huge difference.
