I agree with much of what you are saying here, we obviously can’t fix everything ourselves.

However, the solution which has to happen seems outside the perception of the average scientist, as far as I can tell.

It is also outside the perception of the entire profit driven establishment.

The solution involves reforming the economic system enabling money to be aligned with the energy of sunlight, to give us a system which donates money to every individual and every organisation, sourced from the sun.

That way we we become solar dependent, like plants supplying all other life with empowering nutrients, functioning to put valuable creative additive work into the planet, without having to continue depleting its various resources.

In doing so, we change the economy from one of controlled scarcity, to one of directed abundance.

After that, the concepts of profit, loss, interest, and efficiency become pretty much redundant, infinite funds are available for all causes we might wish to support via democratic markets no longer driven by profit, or capital.

I have yet to see any scientist talking about, or acknowledging this in any way.

But it is happening by stealth, via Bitcoin and other proof of work tokens, that even profit-driven Bitcoin investors themselves can’t see.

So it looks like science, as well as the economic system has to be reformed.

It would be very cool if one day the scientific institutes were to announce profit as something disqualifying science.

Occams razor would be one of the first currently used “fundamental” principles of science to perhaps be relegated to history.
