I agree with everything you said, but you missed something crucial that all economists are going to have to learn more about - energy. It's a misunderstanding of this and it's relationship with money which is at the root of the problem.
The good news is that it's instantly fixable, we could have the fix tomorrow, if the right folk somehow instantly gained awareness of it.
