I agree completely with you, as a long practicing Systems Engineer myself.
When we realise that the greatest Ponzi of all is the grand energy Ponzi, then we might realise that breaking it, breaks all Ponzis.
I think we are well on the way to doing just that, with Bitcoin, though the effects are heavily masked by the old system.
